Well, with almost $800 million made internationally, you knew they were going to make another Alvin and the Chipmunks movie.  And after the success that other movies have had, of course it will be in 3D

Alvin and the Chipmunks 3D will be coming to theaters on December 16th, 2011.

This series has done remarkably well with the family crowd - and as the Final Destination franchise can tell you – 3D is the way to go to keep that movie train moving.
