Fans of TV’s Friday Night Lights will be sad.
Sources say that NBC has told the cast and crew that the 5th season of the show will be their final season. The cast has been given permission to pursue other acting gigs once they finish production on the season in June of this year.
Luckily for fans, they still have over a year with their program. While DirecTV has finished airing the 4th season, NBC won’t air the 4th season until the end of April (NBC & DirecTV have a deal to share production costs – a deal made to save the show from cancellation after its low-rated first season on NBC). DirecTV will be airing the 5th and final season this fall, with NBC airing it next year.
